Mother’s Day Weekend
“Baker’s Acres Mom of the Year”- Drop your Mom’s name into our box and we’ll choose our “Mom of the Year” at random during our Mother’s Day Breakfast. Our winning mom will receive a “Mother of the Year” t-shirt and bragging rights for the whole season! Visit us in the store on Friday or Saturday to submit your Mom’s name.

2:00 PM to 3:00 PM - Arts and Crafts -  Make a gift for Mom. 
Please bring with you one clean, empty soup can per child. We’ll supply everything else you need!
3:00 PM to 4:00 PM - Muffins with Mom - in the pavilion.  Enjoy a spot of tea or a cup of coffee and a nice muffin with Mom.  It will give you all a chance to sit back and relax for a few moments with your kids; and it would be a great time for you, kids, to give your Mom her freshly made Mother's Day gift!
7:00 PM - Bring Mom to the Movies- Family themed movie and free   popcorn! Popcorn served between 7:00pm and 7:15 so don’t be late!

Clean-Up Weekend
Stop in the store and sign up to help us "Clean the Campground"!  A pledge to donate four hours of your time on Saturday will get you your second night free (seasonals will receive a credit towards site their site fee).

12:00 PM -3:00 PM - “Chowda Head” Cook-off - Submit your tastiest New England style chowder to our judges during our “Chowda Head Cook-off and BBQ” ($). Hamburgers, hotdogs, wings, and more!!! Winner will be our “Baker’s Acres Chowda Head of the Year” and receive an “I’m the 2009 Chowda Head” apron and t-shirt. Sign up in advance by calling, emailing or registering in the store!
2:00 PM - Daddy-lympic Games - Fastest Diaper Change and Fastest   Running with a “Beer” are just a preview of our games. The winner will    receive a “Dad of the Year” t-shirt and bragging rights for the season!
8:30 PM - Dad and Me at the Movies - Father’s Day themed movie and free popcorn! Popcorn served between 8:30PM and 8:45PM so don’t be late!

7:00PM -11:00PM - Pajama Party- Ages 5-17. What better way to officially celebrate the end of the school year than with a PJ Party? We’ve got it all planned out for you:  DJ, pizza, Bonfire for school paper burning (limited to one notebook per child), Limbo, Best Dressed Individual/Group, Crazy Hair Contest, Best Slippers Contest and Face Painting
*Parents…you may chaperone, but this party is strictly for the kids!  Inappropriate attire will have you personally escorted from the party and back to your parents. If you are not sure what is appropriate, ask first!
8:00PM -10:45PM - Adult Pool Night- Ages 18+. While the kids are living it up enjoy an evening swim in a kid free zone!

We found a treasure! - If you can guess how many “gemstones” we have  in our jar then you can win the treasure! Winner will be announced at our  fish fry.

11:00AM- Treasure Hunt- Can you find the treasure chest?  Ages 12 and under.  Meet at the pavilion at 11:00AM to get your first clue. Winner will be announced at the fish fry! 
12:00PM- Crab Race- Bring your own LIVE crab. If you’ve got the fastest crab you’ll win a prize! Crabs must be of legal size.  Check with us in the store if you’re not sure.

Wet and Wild Weekend

12:00PM -2:00PM - Water Games- We’ve got lots of fun planned to keep you happy and to keep you from drying off!

7:00PM - Wet Hayride- Be prepared for a wet ride! Arm yourself with the biggest water gun you can find. Or stay at your site and take aim at the hay wagon as it passes. For the safety of our hayride drivers and the riders, please do not try to hit our hayride drivers in the eye. Small children should not be permitted on hayride for their safety.
8:00PM -10:45PM - Pool Night- Relax after a long day of getting soaked  by…staying soaked. Nothing’s more fun than a pool night!!!

2:00PM -5:00PM - Foods Up!!!-One free hamburger or hotdog per person. ($) Small fee for additional. Eat your heart out while you enjoy the day.
4:00PM - Jell-O Eating Contest- sign up ahead of time, or we may just ask you to do it anyway.
7:00PM - Hayride- Meets in the playground.
8:30PM - Movie in Pavilion with Free Popcorn- Popcorn served between 8:30PM and 8:45PM so don’t be late!

12:00PM - 2:00PM - Baker’s Acres 2nd Annual “Bake Off”- It was bound to happen…after all, we are Bakers! Bring your best dessert to the pavilion to have judged. Win an “I’m the Baker’s Baker” t-shirt, apron, and of course bragging rights…after all you are the “2nd Annual Baker’s Brilliant  Baker Champion!!”

Make your own fantastical ice cream sundae, dance like the Big Bopper with PJ the DJ and take part in our Danny and Sandy look-alike contest (for you young folk, they’re from the movie Grease.)

1st Annual Baker’s Acres Campground Day Trip

The first leg of our journey will bring us to the Edwin B. Forsythe Wildlife Refuge.  We will take an eight mile drive through more than 46,000 acres of Southern New Jersey coastal habitats.  The refuge is located in one of the Atlantic Flyway’s most active flight paths.   The day permit fee for the refuge is $4.00 per car.  We recommend carpooling if possible.

There will be many opportunities for you to get out of the car and get a closer look at your surroundings so remember to bring your bug spray and sun screen.  Also, we suggest bringing bottled water as there are no vending machines before entering.  Along the trails there are numbered stops that give you information about what you may see.  This is a wonderful chance for you photography enthusiasts to take some amazing pictures of the Atlantic City skyline and beautiful coastal habitats, as well as migrating and native fauna.

Our second stop will be at Historic Smithville Shoppes and Village Green.  They boast over 40 shops and restaurants.  You will be sure to find something for everyone in your group.  The kids will enjoy riding the carousel, train or paddles boats (nominal fee) and everyone will love the multitude of fares to be found throughout the village.  Be sure to stop at Piney’s Hallow; their merchandise is made by local artists and crafters from in and around our famous Pine Barrens. As an extra bonus for our campers that join us on Saturday, you will get a 10% off coupon that is accepted at most of the shops and restaurants. 

Itinerary

9:00 AM –  Stop in the office to receive your day trip packet.  This includes directions to and from our destination (in case you want to take more time than allotted), an information packet and an activity packet for the children.
9:30 AM –  All participating cars will meet on Willets Avenue (the back entrance into the campground).  We will take a count of our cars and leave from there.
10:00 AM –  Arrive at the Edwin B. Forsythe Wildlife Refuge.  We will each pay our day permit fees and then be on our way.
11:30 AM –  Meet at the exit to caravan over to the Historic Smithville Shoppes and the Village Green.  This will give you an opportunity to shop, have lunch or even grab some ice cream.
1:30 PM – The caravan will meet in the parking lot to head back to the campground.  

Side notes:     •Bring bottled water and some light snacks for the kids.  There are no    
 vending machines in the refuge. (Trail takes approx. 1hr to 1 hr 15min)
 •No restrooms at the refuge.  Restrooms are available at Smithville
 •Sunscreen and bug spray may be a good idea.
 •Bring a camera.
 •Make sure you have $4.00 in cash for the day permit fee.
 •Please do not leave any trash in the refuge.

Candy Corn crazy – Guess the amount of Candy Corn we’ve stuffed into the jar and win a prize!
Best Decorated Site - Get your site decorated before the 7:00PM hayride on Saturday. Our riders will judge their favorite site and the winner will be announced at the dance! Let us know in the office if your site is participating so we can make sure the hayride visits you with our voting ghouls and goblins!
Best Looking Scarecrow – It’s up to you to bring us your very best in scarecrow-ware! Present your scarecrow at our dance to be judged! If you need some straw, stop by our Pumpkin Painting to help yourself!

11:00AM – Pumpkin Picking Time – Jump on our Hayride (meets in playground) and take a leisurely ride to our ball field. Find your perfect pumpkin for decorating!
12:00PM to 2:00PM – Pumpkin Painting Time – Meet in the pavilion to really jazz that pumpkin up. We’ll supply the goods, you supply the imagination! 2:00PM to 4:00PM - Scarecrow Stuffing Time - If you’re going to participate in our scarecrow contest, stop by to stuff that scarecrow!  Remember, you need to bring your own scarecrow attire…we’ll supply the stuffing!
5:45PM to 6:45PM - Trick or Treat!  Stop in the store for your list of participating sites and then head out to fill your ghoulie, oops, we mean, goodie bags! 
7:00PM – Hayride – meets in the playground. Make sure you grab a form from us to vote on your very favorite Haunted Site!
7:00PM to 10:45PM – Haunted Dance – Be sure to put your best costume on … we’ll be judging you! Enjoy great music, ginger snaps and warm cider. Bring your pumpkin for the funniest, craziest, most creative pumpkin contest. Don’t forget to bring your scarecrow!
