May 1 Campground Opens - Official Start of the 2013 Season.
Welcome back to all of our campers and our seasonal families. We hope that you enjoyed your winter and are looking forward to a great 2013 Season.
May 10 - 12 Mother’s Day Weekend
“Baker’s Acres Mom of the Year” - Stop in the store on Friday or Saturday to drop your mom’s name into the ballot box. At our Mother’s Day Breakfast, we will draw our winner. This year’s mom will receive a “2013 Mother of the Year” tee shirt, a family photo to be displayed in our Hall of Fame, and of course, bragging rights for the whole season.
May 11 2:00PM to 4:00PM - Mother’s Day Themed Arts and Crafts.
3:00PM to 4:00PM - Muffins with Mom - Tea, Coffee, Juice, Muffins, but most importantly... some quality time for Mom and kids. During the Muffins with Mom we will be having a “Purse Scavenger Hunt” and the “How Well Do You Know Mom?” game - Based on the rules of the Newlywed Game, families compete to see which family knows Mom best! Hey kids! This might be a great time to give Mom the craft you made for her!
May 12 8:30AM to 10:30AM - Complimentary Mother’s Day Breakfast. Moms eat free and so can everyone else ... if you serve Mom! We will be serving delicious home made pancakes with sausage and fresh fruit. Also, a flower for mom as our gift!

May 17-19 Spring Cleaning Weekend
Stop in the store and sign up to help us “Clean and Beautify the Campground”! Pledge to donate four hours of your time on Saturday and we will thank you by giving you your second night free! Seasonal campers will receive a credit towards site fee.

May 18 10:00AM to 1:00PM - Meet us in the playground at 10:00AM to receive your assignment. At the end of your four hour clean-up, please have one of our staff sign up on your pledge time. Then, visit us in the office to receive your second night credit!
7:00PM to 10:00PM - Bonfire with S’mores - Take this time to get to know your fellow campers, bond with your loved ones or just fill your belly with some warm, gooey S’mores!
May 19 Relax! If you fulfilled your four hour pledge then be sure to stop in the office before check-out to be credited for your free second night. Thank you for your help! Not ready to go home yet? May 24 - 27 Memorial Day Weekend
May 24 8:30PM - Movie in the pavilion with free popcorn! We always promise a family-friendly movie. Popcorn will be served between 8:30PM and 8:45PM.
May 25 12:30PM to 1:30PM - Kids’ Candy Bar Bingo (ages 4 to 17) - No we don’t make you bring a candy bar (how lame is that?!) We gladly give you candy bars if you win a bingo!
2:00PM to 4:00PM - Memorial Day Themed Arts and Crafts - Kids, meet at the pavilion to participate in our free craft time!
4:30PM to 5:30PM - Poolside Trivia
8:30PM - Surprise Bingo - Who doesn’t love to win? Visit us in the pavilion to try your luck. Every bingo winner picks a bag. Contained within may be a great prize, or a laugh for everyone else!
May 26 11:00 AM - Kickball - Kids, meet us in the ball field for a friendly game of kickball.
1:00PM - Volleyball Tournament - 12+ to participate. Register ahead by email or in the office promptly before 8:00PM on Saturday, May 25. 5 Person teams; create your own team or sign up individually. A group photo of the winners will be displayed in our Hall of Fame, as well. Also, we invite the winning team members to participate in our Labor Day Volleyball “Battle of the Victors” Tournament.
2:00PM to 4:00PM - Memorial Day Themed Arts and Crafts - Kids, meet at the pavilion to participate in our free craft time.
4:30PM - Race Car Derby ($) - Purchase a car to enter in the race. Cash prizes to the winner! More information to follow!
7:00PM to 10:45PM - Memorial Day Dance - Our dances are appropriate for all ages! Visit us in the pavilion to boogie all night long!
May 27 8:30AM to 10:30AM - “See You Soon Breakfast” ($) - Coffee, OJ, Tea, Bagels, Muffins, Pastry, Cereal, Fruit and more. Breakfast will be served until 10:30AM or until our tasty fare runs out!

May 31 - June 2 Heroes Weekend - As our way of saying thank you, we invite all campers who are active in the Armed Forces, who are Firefighters, or Police to stay with us this weekend. Provide your ID card to receive 30% off your stay. We will also have discounts provided by local area businesses for your use!

This weekend, as part of our Heroes Weekend, we would like to collect items to send care packages to our troops overseas. We will be collecting:

Please note that aerosol products cannot be shipped overseas. Also, items must be in their original packaging. When in doubt, think small. It is easier to ship smaller packaged items than large, economy-sized items. All donations can be handed in at the office. Finally, anyone that makes a donation, we would like you to sign a card that will be sent in with the packages.
June 1 2:00PM to 4:00PM - Arts and Crafts - We will be writing letters and coloring pictures to send to troops overseas. We will provide the paper, envelopes and stamps. Just bring your kind thoughts and hopes for the men and women that protect our country! Kids, meet at the pavilion to participate in our free craft time.
8:30PM - Movie in Pavilion and Free Family Night Basket Giveaway - Popcorn will be served between 8:30PM and 8:45PM. Our Basket winner will be drawn at the end of the movie. Winner must be present or we will call a new name.

June 7 - 9 Anniversary Celebration and Seasonal Appreciation Weekend
We love our Seasonal Families and what better way to celebrate them and our 45th Anniversary than our Seasonal Covered Dish. We will be displaying photos from the past 45 years and celebrating with an anniversary cake.
June 8 6:00PM - 5th Annual Seasonal Group Photo - We would like to take a photo at our covered dish each year. Please join us so that perhaps your children and grandchildren will be able to look back in 50 years and see how it was ... way back then!
6:00PM - Seasonal Covered Dish - To follow directly after our group photo. Seasonals, bring your tastiest covered dish to share with your seasonal neighbors (dessert, entree, main dish, or all three)! Please bring plate and utensils if you can.

June 14 - 16 Father’s Day Weekend and Baked Beans Cook-off
You spoke and we listened! While we know you all love the good-natured competition AND all of the taste tests, The Clam Chowder cook-off was too difficult. We’re so pleased to announce our new cook-off and are sure you will love it!

June 15 2:00PM to 3:00PM - Father’s Day Themed Arts and Crafts - Kids, meet in our pavilion to participate in our free craft time. A perfect opportunity to make a gift for Dad!
3:00PM - Dad-Olympic Games - We all know that our Dads are the master of all, so let’s see if your Dad can win our popular Dad-Olympic Games! What are the games, you ask? How about Fastest Diaper Change, Fastest Table Setting, Baby Food Taste Test and more! The winning dad will receive a “2013 Dad of the Year” tee shirt, a family photo in our Hall of Fame, and the ever important bragging rights for himself and his whole family.
5:00PM - “Baked Beans” Cook-Off - We invite you to enter a half pan size of Baked Beans to be judged by your fellow campers. The winner will receive a cash prize and a “2013 Baked Beans Champion” tee shirt. Please sign up in advance by email, or in the store no later than 8:00PM Friday, June 14. Not a chef? That’s okay. We’ll have hot dogs, hamburgers, corn and more to ensure a great Father’s Day dinner! ($)

June 22 1:00PM to 1:30PM and 4:00PM to 4:30PM - Adults, if you would like to compete in our wildly famous “The Newlywed Game”, then meet us in the pavilion to answer preliminary questions. You do not need to be newly-wed to play! Long-time couples and those married for years and years and years are welcome too! We will be offering who times to fill our the questionnaire for the preliminary round for the game later in the evening.

7:00PM to 10:45PM - Pajama Party and Pajama Drive - Our pajama party is appropriate for kids of all ages. What better way is there to officially celebrate the end of another school year than with a party?! We’ve got the whole evening planned: DJ, Pizza, School Paper Bonfire (limited to one notebook per child, please), Limbo, Best Dressed Individual / Group, Crazy Hair Contest, Best Slippers, Face Painting and more! *Parents, you are welcome to chaperon, but this party is strictly for kids. Kids, inappropriate attire will have you personally escorted from the dance and back to your parents. If there are any questions as to what is appropriate, please ask.
8:00PM to 10:45PM - Adult Pool Night and Poolside “The Newlywed Game” - While the kids are living it up, enjoy and evening swim with game show entertainment in a kid-free zone.

July 4 - 7 Fourth of July Weekend. Fireworks are not permitted in the campground! Thank you.

Are you ready for some Fireworks? Stop in the store and ask for directions to the nearest display. Again, please remember that we do not allow fireworks in our campground. Thank you for understanding.
July 5 11:00AM to 1:00PM - Kids Day - Ages 4-12. Join us at our famous salute to the kids that make our campground so great. We have contests galore and prizes for the winners.
1:00PM - We’ll wrap the events up with a campground-wide scavenger hunt. Parents, we will assign groups of seasonal kids with our young guests who may be unfamiliar with the campground’s layout.
3:00PM - Volleyball Tournament - Ages 12+ to participate. July 12 - 14 “Where the Pines Meet the Bay” Weekend and Fish Fry
Our area has so much to offer, and so many times when we go on vacation, we don’t get the opportunity to explore our surroundings. So, Baker’s Acres has decided to bring them to you!
We found a treasure! If you can guess how many gemstones we have in our jar, then we will award that treasure to you! Winner will be announced at our Fish Fry.
July 12 8:30PM - Movie in the pavilion with free popcorn. We always promise a family-friendly movie. Popcorn will be served between 8:30PM and 8:45PM.
July 13 11:00AM - Treasure Hunt - Ages 12 and under. Can you discover the lost treasure chest? Parents, we will assign groups of seasonal kids with our young guests who may be unfamiliar with the campground’s layout. Meet us in the pavilion at 11:00AM to receive your first clue. Our winning team will split the treasure found within the chest, and have their group photo displayed in our Hall of Fame. We will announce the winning team at our Fish Fry!
12:00PM - Fun and informative presentation by one of our local heritage buffs. It is our intention to have a number of presentations scheduled. Please check back for changes.
2:30PM to 4:00PM - Arts and Crafts - Kids, join us in the pavilion to participate in our free craft time.
4:00PM to 6:30PM - Fish Fry ($) - This is truly a feast that you will not want to miss. Crispy fresh and tender fish, corn on the cob, potato and a roll! You’ll go home to tell all of your friends about this highly economical (that means it’s a great price) and tasty meal you had on Saturday night!

July 26 - 28 Wet and Wild Weekend

July 27 12:00PM to 2:00PM - Water Games - OH BOY! Have we got a lot of fun planned for you and your family! We promise two things. 1) You’re going to have a great time and 2) You’re going to get wet.
3:00PM to 4:00PM - Arts and Crafts - Kids, meet us in the pavilion to participate in our free craft time.
7:00PM - Wet Hayrides - Come armed and prepare to get soaked! We recommend water guns and buckets of water. Or stay at your site and attack when the hayride approaches. For the safety of our hayride drivers and their passengers, we must insist you do not shoot the drivers in the face. Also, small children should not be permitted on the hayride for their safety. Water balloons are not permitted.
8:30PM - Bingo - All ages can participate in our bingo games. Stick around to the end for the jackpot round!
POOL NIGHT - Pool will be open until 10:45PM!

August 2 - 4 Dixieland Weekend
August 2 8:30PM - Movie in the pavilion with free popcorn. We always promise a family-friendly movie. Popcorn will be served between 8:30PM and 8:45PM.
August 3 2:00PM to 6:00PM - Dixieland Afternoon - An afternoon of fun! Carnival style games for the kids, inflatable water slide and bounce house, tasty food and bluegrass music, too!
2:00PM to 6:00PM - Flea market tables open. How can you possibly pass up all those tables of new and new-to-you treasures? If you would like to have a table at our flea market, please email or call ahead of time. Tables for our campers are $5.00 each.
2:00PM to 5:00PM - Food’s Up! To show a little southern hospitality, we’ll extent to each campsite, two tickets for either a free hamburger or hotdog. Additional food can be purchased for a very small fee. We’ll also have fresh corn on the cob, chicken wings, rolls and more.
4:00PM - Jell-O Eating Contest - We will have a sign up sheet in our store on Friday night and Saturday morning. Prizes awarded to the winners!
5:30PM - Redeem your carnival tickets for prizes.

Bring the dessert that everyone raves about and see if it’s enough to beat the competition. This year, we’ll have outside guest judges to come in and vote for their favorite dish. Our winner will receive an “I’m the Baker’s Baker” tee shirt and apron, a picture to be displayed in our Hall of Fame, and the ever important bragging rights. Who else can say, they’re the 6th Annual Baker’s bake-off champion? Please sign up in advance by email, or stop in the office no later than 10:00AM on Saturday morning.

August 30 - Sept 2 Labor Day Weekend

August 31 12:00PM to 3:00PM - Family Day Challenge - Three-legged race, Bucket Brigade, Family Trivia and more of those great nostalgic games you played as a child. Now is your chance to get the whole family involved. You’ll have a great time and perhaps you will walk away as this year’s “Baker’s Acres Family Day Champions”.
4:00PM - Volleyball Playoffs - this game is tentatively scheduled between our two previous tournament champions from Memorial Day Weekend and July Fourth Weekend. If both teams do not return we will open the court to everyone else!
7:00PM - Hayride - Meet in the playground for a fun and family-friendly tour de Baker’s Acres.

September 1 10:00AM - 19th Annual Horseshoe Tournament ($) - A campground tradition that welcomes new and returning players alike. The entry fee covers the cost of your famous Tournament tee. Sign-ups begin two weeks in advance. Our skillful winners will receive a champion Tee, trophy, bragging rights and their photo proudly hung in our Hall of Fame!

2:00PM to 4:00PM - Arts and Crafts - Kids, meet us in the pavilion to participate in our free craft time.
4:30PM to 5:30PM - Kids’ Candy Bar Bingo (ages 4 to 17) - No, we don’t make you bring a candy bar (how lame is that?)! We will gladly award you with one if you win a Bingo!
7:00PM - Hayride - Meet in the playground for a fun and family-friendly tour do Baker’s Acres.
7:00PM to 10:45PM - Labor Day Dance - The famous Lou Wright and the Country Melody Men return! Live entertainment that is absolutely sure to get your feet tapping all the way to the dance floor.
September 2 8:30AM to 10:30AM - “See You Soon Breakfast” ($) - Coffee, OJ, tea, bagels, muffins, pastry, cereal, fruit and more. Breakfast will be served until 10:30AM or until our tasty fare runs out!

September 13 - 15 30th Annual Pig Roast Weekend
September 14 6:00PM to 8:00PM - 30th Annual Pig Roast ($). One of our all-time favorite activities. Imagine the aroma of slowly roasted pork, home made baked beans, sweet home-made sauerkraut and so much more. Limited seating. We are accepting sign-ups by phone or in person.

September 28 - 29 31st Annual Ocean County Decoy and Gunning Show, Tuckerton NJ. This is one of the largest decoy/gunning shows on the east coast! See carvers, gunning suppliers, hunting dogs at work (and occasionally puppies for sale), food vendors, hunting/gunning accessory vendors, working and artistic decoys for sale and much, much more! October 11 - 13 Haunted Halloween Weekend - Part 1
Our first Halloween weekend is perfect for all ages, especially your younger ghouls and goblins! Be sure to pick up a voting ballot when you check in. We’ll have prizes for best scarecrow and best pumpkin at our Bonfire on Saturday night. Ballots must be returned to us no later than 7:00PM on Saturday evening.
Candy Corn Crazy - We’ve stockpiled a ton of candy corn, just in case there’s a candy corn emergency. BUT ... if you can guess how many we have in the jar, then they’re yours! The closest guess (without going over) wins. Winner will be announced at the Bonfire.
October 11 8:30PM - Movie in the pavilion, we always promise a family-friendly movie.
October 12 12:00PM - Pumpkin Picking - Meet us in the playground and hop aboard our Hay Wagon as we take you on a tour of our campground and back to the “pumpkin field”. Pick out that perfect pumpkins for decorating and bring it to our pavilion!
12:00PM to 3:00PM - Pumpkin Painting - Did you find that perfect pumpkin? Great! Now it’s time to give it a personality. Meet Nikki in the pavilion to paint your pumpkin and enter it into our Great Pumpkin Contest. Winners will be announced at the Bonfire.
1:00PM - Scarecrow Stuffing - You bring the attire and we’ll supply the stuffing. Enter your scarecrow into our scarecrow contest. The winner will be announced at the Bonfire.
6:00PM - Kids Costume Parade and Trick-or-Treating - Kids, join us in the playground for a parade of costumes! Don’t forget to bring your trick-or-treat bag! Parents and adults, please consider bringing candy or small toys with you to the parade so the kids can trick or treat as they go past!
7:00PM - Hayride around the campground. Meet at the playground.
8:00PM to 10:00PM - Bonfire with S’Mores - Take this time to get to know your fellow campers, bond with your loved ones, or just to pig out on some warm gooey s’mores! We will also be serving gingersnaps and warm apple cider. Are you a natural born story teller? We are looking for a volunteer to tell family-friendly ghost stories around the fire. October 18 - 20 Halloween Weekend - Part 2
Enter our “Best Decorated Site” Contest! Entries must be received no later than 9:30PM on Friday evening. Sites must be decorated by 7:00PM on Saturday.
October 18 8:30PM - We will be playing “Halloween Town II” in the pavilion with free popcorn. We always promise a family-friendly movie. Popcorn will be served between 8:30PM and 8:45PM.
October 19 12:00PM to 2:00PM - Halloween Themed Games with Candy Prizes!
6:00PM to 7:00PM - Campground-wide Trick-or-Treating! Stop in the store to grab a map of participating sites. Campers, if you would like to offer candy and/or treats to our little ghouls and goblins (and we’d certainly appreciate if you would), then please let us know by 12:00PM so that we can print accurate maps for the kids.
7:00PM - Hayride to view the participating “Best Decorated” sites. Make sure you get your voting ballot from the store before getting on the hayride. Only one ballot per person. Winner of the contest will be announced at our dance.
8:00PM to 10:45PM - Halloween Dance - Dress to impress! Hooray for another Spooktacular dance with PJ the DJ. We will have prizes for the best dressed, spooky punch, snacks and a whole lot of fun! Winner of the “Best Decorated Site” will be announced.

October 27 Seasonal Late Night - If you didn’t close your site for the season, then come down and enjoy a night of being *relatively* rowdy. Quiet hour is extended to 1:00AM. Restrictions, of course ... as us at the store.
